In addition to the great importance for the protection of the environment, since tires are not biodegradable and have been deposited in our landfills for years, tire recycling is also an economically viable project, because it creates products with new value from used products. 

Products obtained by recycling used tires can be used in the production of a large number of new products. 

It is important to note that used tires can be completely recycled, and their chemical and physical properties make them valuable raw materials. 

Many of the advantages that tires have during use remain valid when using used tires in the secondary phase of their processing when the tire is used as a material for the manufacture of other types of products. Each form of rubber retains its characteristics including slow bacterial growth, resistance to mold, heat and moisture, sunlight and UV radiation, as well as various types of mineral oils, most thinners, acids or other chemicals. 

The physical properties of the used tires are of great value because they are non-toxic, non-biodegradable, their shape, weight and elasticity make them fully usable for a large number of different products, in granular or powder form. 

Granules obtained by recycling rubber can be used in many ways, including:

• Sports and recreation: grounds for sports fields (tennis, athletics, outdoor sports fields, indoor courts), children's playgrounds, parks, trails

• Household: production of various rubber parts for the household, protective floor coverings, full tires for carts and trash cans, etc.
• Construction: roof insulation coatings, sound barriers in construction, waterproof membranes, porous bituminous binders, rubber pipes

Traffic: addition to asphalts - reduction of braking distances, reduction of noise, vibrations, paving of promenades, various traffic signs ("road stoppers", parking posts, signposts, traffic barriers), car parts (brakes, interior parts, steering wheels, partitions)
